Alpine Strawberry ‘Regina’- Approx. 30 Seeds
Strawberry seeds grow best after a short cold period. Pop the sealed packet in the freezer for 2–4 weeks, then let it warm up gradually before planting.
Start sowing from late February in trays or small pots. Sprinkle the seeds on the surface and cover them very lightly, just enough to hide them. Keep the soil moist and place them somewhere with partial shade. They germinate best at around 18°C (65°F).
Once your seedlings develop their second set of true leaves, thin them out so they’re about 3–4 inches apart, or move them into their own pots.
When they’re strong enough, gradually introduce them to outdoor conditions before planting them in the garden.
Try not to plant strawberries in soil where potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, or raspberries have grown in the past three years.
